// Q&A · Rubber Tracks
How do you measure rubber track size on a mini excavator or skid steer?
Expert Answer
Measure rubber track size by three numbers: width, pitch, and links. First measure the track width edge to edge, then measure the pitch from the center of one drive lug to the center of the next, and finally count the number of links or drive lugs around the inside of the track. The size is usually written as width x pitch x links, for example 300x52.5x80.
Width is the easiest place to start, but pitch and link count are what confirm the exact fit. Use a metric ruler or caliper for best accuracy, and measure an existing track in several spots if it is worn or stretched. If the machine has a directional arrow, keep that in mind when replacing the track. If you are unsure, compare the measurements with the OEM manual or the old track markings.
For replacement, the safest approach is to verify all three measurements before ordering. Small differences in pitch or link count can cause tracking problems, tight fitment, or early wear. VANROCK supplies rubber tracks through its appointed dealer network and quotes pricing on request, so exact fitment can be confirmed before you buy.
