A practical check is to compare the wear pattern across the whole undercarriage, not just the sprocket alone. Look for accelerated chain wear, pitch mismatch, uneven engagement, or polished/shiny tooth faces that are no longer symmetrical. On track machines, a worn sprocket can also accelerate wear on the chain links, rollers, and idlers, so a single visibly worn component often means the rest of the system should be inspected too.
