First release all track tension by bleeding grease from the track adjuster valve. Use the boom and arm to lift the affected side of the machine off the ground. Align the track chain onto the sprocket first, then work it over the rollers and idler — a bar, wooden block and a second person guiding chain alignment make this much easier. Slowly rotate the track motor so the sprocket pulls the chain into position, seat the track on the idler, then re-tension with grease to the correct sag. Afterwards, find out why it derailed: excessive wear on the chain, idler flanges, rollers or sprocket, wrong tension, or packed material are the usual causes.
