The biggest cost drivers are pitch, link count, and construction. Smaller mini-excavators use lighter chains and fewer links, while larger machines need heavier chains with more robust pins and bushings, which raises cost. Sealed and lubricated chains generally cost more than dry chains, but they usually last longer because internal wear is reduced.

A quote should be based on the full specification, not just a visible match. Important checks include pitch, rail width, pin diameter, bushing type, and whether the chain is bare or fitted with shoes.
