Excavator sprockets are the toothed drive parts that engage the track chain and transfer power from the final drive to the tracks. To choose the right one, match the sprocket to the exact machine model, track chain pitch, and undercarriage design, then confirm whether your machine uses a one-piece sprocket or replaceable segments.

The best fit is not just about bolt pattern. You also need the correct tooth profile, tooth count, center bore or mounting dimensions, and compatibility with the chain condition. If the chain is already badly worn or elongated, a new sprocket alone may wear quickly because the pitch no longer matches properly. In many cases, sprockets and chains should be assessed together for the most balanced service life.

Common signs of sprocket wear include hooked or pointed teeth, uneven tooth wear, poor chain engagement, vibration, noise, and faster-than-normal wear on the track chain. When teeth look sharp on one side or the chain seems to ride up instead of seating cleanly, it is time to inspect the full undercarriage. A damaged or mismatched sprocket can also increase stress on rollers, idlers, and chain links.
